I. Product Overview
Seismic box-type steel structure is a high-performance building structure system based on modern seismic theory, designed for earthquake-prone areas and high-intensity fortification areas. The structure adopts standardized box section steel members, and through modular design and industrialized production, it forms a building solution with excellent anti-seismic performance, rapid construction advantages and full life cycle economy, and is widely used in schools, hospitals, emergency command centers, industrial plants and high-rise residential buildings, etc., which have very high requirements for safety.
II. Core Design Features
Optimized design of box section
Closed rectangular cross-section (cross-section size can be customized from 300×300mm to 1500×1500mm according to the demand), transverse stiffening ribs and longitudinal partitions are set inside to form a multi-cavity shear-resisting system, and the bending stiffness of the cross-section is increased by 40%-60% compared with that of the traditional H-beam steel.
Through finite element simulation to optimize the cross-section size and wall thickness distribution, the structural deadweight is reduced by 15% while the ultimate load carrying capacity is increased by 25%.
Application of high-strength steel
The main components adopt Q355GJD, Q420GJC and other high-strength seismic special steel, with yield strength of 355-420MPa, elongation ≥22%, and -40℃ low-temperature impact function ≥34J, which meets the requirements for seismic defense of 8 degrees and above.
Q460FR fire-resistant steel is used in key node parts, with strength retention rate ≥67% under 600℃ high temperature, ensuring structural integrity under fire scenarios.
Modular node connection technology
The self-developed “mortise and tenon - socket” composite connection system, through the combination of pre-embedded sockets and high-strength bolts, the node rotational stiffness reaches 1.8 times that of the traditional welded nodes, and the energy consumption capacity is increased by 300%.
BIM technology is adopted for three-dimensional node preassembly, realizing millimeter-level precision control and on-site construction error of ≤2mm.
III. Seismic Performance Advantages
Multi-level anti-seismic line of defense
First line of defense: the box-type steel columns form distributed plastic hinges through the design of cross-section multi-cavity, effectively dissipating seismic energy;
Second line of defense: replaceable energy dissipator (damping ratio up to 0.25) is set at the end of the beam, which gives priority to controllable damage under rare earthquakes;
Third line of defense: the foundation isolation layer adopts lead-core rubber bearings, with a maximum displacement of up to 450mm and a damping efficiency of ≥70%.
Experimental verification data
Certified by the National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Construction Engineering, under the simulated 9-degree rare earthquakes (PGA=0.4g) working condition:
Inter-story displacement angle ≤1/150 (code limit 1/50)
Residual deformation ≤0.3%
No risk of structural collapse
