How to minimize construction risk in structural steelwork?

Construction risk control of Steel Structure project is a systematic project involving the whole life cycle, which needs to build a multi-level protection system from four dimensions: design optimization, process innovation, intelligent monitoring and management synergy. Below are the six core control strategies and specific implementation paths:


I. Digital preview and design optimization

BIM Collision Detection

Autodesk Navisworks is used to conduct 3D model collision detection, discovering and eliminating more than 90% of structural conflicts in advance. Material and process innovation

Automated Welding Technology

High-precision Positioning Technology

Adopting the intelligent measurement and control system of Beidou+5G, the steel tower lifting of Nanjing Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge realizes millimeter-level positioning, and the verticality deviation is controlled within 1/4000.


Modularized Integral Installation

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor project adopts a 12,000-ton floating crane to carry out the overall lifting of 4,000-ton steel box girders, which reduces the length of overhead work by 70% compared with the traditional segmental installation, and avoids 80% of the risk of adjacent work.


Intelligent Monitoring and Early Warning System

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)

Optical fiber grating sensors are deployed at key nodes to monitor stress and deformation data in real time. 5,000+ monitoring points are set up during the steel structure construction phase of Canton Tower, and the early warning response time is shortened to 15 seconds.


Drone Inspection System

Standardization of safety protection

Assembled Protection System

Promoting standardized steel operation platforms, a Chongqing Raffles project applies modular protection racks to reduce the accident rate of falling from height by 60%. Equipped with intelligent safety belts with positioning and vital signs monitoring functions.


Intelligent lifting control

Developing intelligent anti-collision system for lifting machinery, establishing a three-dimensional safety protection network through UWB positioning technology, reducing lifting accidents by 90% after application in a shipyard project.


Environmental monitoring linkage
